The Lions Club in Ross is part of a national and international association of volunteers throughout the British Isles.
This makes Ross Lions part of the worldwide family of Lions Clubs which has more volunteers in more countries than any other Service organisation.
Worldwide, Lions Clubs have some Key Global Causes
- Sight – ending preventable blindness
- Hunger – feeding the hungry and providing food for those in need
- Environment – working creatively to improve the local environment
- Diabetes – raising awareness of issues of health and wellbeing
- Childhood Cancer – in Britain this is supporting research into Brain Tumours
- Added to these are the key Service Areas of
- Youth – projects to encourage positive activity and volunteering in young people
- Humanitarian Assistance – helping where help is needed
- LCIF – the Lions Club International Foundation, the Lions Charity for the world that can respond to emergency needs and disasters directly from Lions Clubs to Lions Clubs.
