Ross-on-Wye volunteers ensure community lunch is a success

Teamwork, and a great band of volunteers, many of them regular helpers for several years, ensured that the Lions Club 2018 festive lunch for older and more vulnerable people to celebrate together, was a streamlined success.

Members of EnviroAbility helped with the preparations, alongside other volunteers, and thanks to donations from PGL and the Ross Phoenix Singers, there were presents to be wrapped for everyone.

As well as the stalwarts who help with laying the tables and preparing the meal, Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) and the Ross Action Bus, who provide transport, it has become something of a tradition that Glyn Price of Ross Garden Store donates plants to give to everyone who attends the Larruperz Centre on Christmas Day.

Those that can’t make it to the centre get a delicious turkey meal, with all the trimmings, delivered to them at home and they also receive a plant and a gift.
