This young patient was supposed to be going home from Hospital, but he insisted on staying to accept a gift for the Children’s Ward of Hereford Hospital from Ross on Wye Lions President Fiona. The Lions and Leo Club members always try to make Christmas a special time for giving. In keeping with their focus on youth, the Lions were pleased to be able to present play supervisor Stacey with 2 new tablet computers. At the same time, the Leos took ‘goodie bags’ around the Children’s Ward and left some under the tree for children who were likely to be in hospital over the Christmas and New Year period.
In 2015 the Lions had presented the Ward with a new pool table which is still standing up well to daily use. However, they could do with some new pool balls and cues so the Lions are replacing those so that the games can continue!
Once this youngster had unwrapped the gifts and had his photo taken alongside Stacy and Lion President Fiona, he reluctantly left the Ward. Since then, the Lions have had a delightful letter of thanks and look forward to continue to raise funds for local good causes.
