A fresh face for the future of the club

Members of Ross on Wye Lions Club are delighted to welcome their new President for 2016-17, Fiona Walker. Fiona has been a member since 2014, is the second female to take this post, and has Jenny Symington as her Vice-President. The outgoing President, David Ravenscroft, handed over the Chain of Office in a lunch held at The Chase Hotel. To welcome Fiona into the post, Lion Sam Phillips presented her with a bouquet on behalf of all the members.

In her first speech, President Fiona spoke of her plans for the future of Lions in Ross on Wye. She said she would like to see more people coming to join the Lions as a way of volunteering to help the community. Also, she is keen to make more links with the people of Ross in order to find out what is needed in the local community and to discuss ways that Ross Lions can help with these needs. Ross Lions Club is a member of Lions Clubs International which has members all over the world and will be celebrating its Centenary during 2017.
