Aid for Ebola Orphans thanks to shoppers in Ross on Wye

Ross on Wye Lions Club set itself the target to raise £500 to aid the Orphans of Ebola. This target was reached thanks to the generosity of shoppers at Aldi and Sainsbury’s Ross on Wye.

The Lions of the UK and Ireland heard that there are over 5000 children who are now orphans due to the illness claiming their family members in West Africa. The Lions are setting up programmes to provide food, sanitation, education and to bring hope to those worst affected by this humanitarian crisis. All over the world, in countries as far apart as Japan and Norway as well as in between, members of Lions Clubs are collecting money to help these children. As the money is being collected by Lions they are confident that every penny will go directly to help the needy.

President Richard, Treasurer Don and Secretary Andrew from Ross Lions were all smiles when the cheque from Ross’ collection could be written out and sent off. On behalf of all the Lions of Ross, many thanks for all the donations made.
