Bonfire & Fireworks 2015

Ross on Wye Lions Club would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supported their Bonfire and Fireworks on November 1st. For once the weather was kind, and hundreds of people came out to enjoy the traditional style event. The Bonfire was a real spectacle in itself and the Fireworks display was greeted with Oohs and AAhs as this display was about light and colour – not very loud bangs.

As a Charity fund raising event the Ross Lions rely heavily on the help of others to make it work. There are too many to name individually, but The Chase Hotel have lent their grounds for many years and without their support it could not happen. Bonfire and Fireworks is a tradition based in the history of the UK and it was particularly good to link up with pupils of Drybrook School who have been studying The Stuarts in their lessons. As part of this they made a ‘Guy’ to add to the bonfire. In fact we had 3 Guys in all, as pupils from Ashfield Park School and local Scouts also made one each.
