Peace Poster 2013

Over more than 20 years the Peace Poster competition has been run in conjunction with the local High School. This has provided a major link between the Art Department and Ross Lions Club and has had many positive spin-offs, not least the opportunity to spread the word about Lions to the younger generation of young people and parents.

During lessons from September to November, all Year 8 students design posters, thinking about Peace and how to display the feelings behind that word. The specific theme this year was ‘Our World, Our Future’. This was the second time that the winning posters were displayed in the local Library providing an opportunity to invite families, friends, staff of the school and local people to see them.

At the Exhibition Opening Night, attended by parents, friends, members of staff and Ross Town Mayor, the winners trophy was presented to Caitlin by the President of Ross on Wye Lions Club, Sue Wilding. The Exhibition will remain in the Library until the New Year, giving many more people the chance to visit.
