Young Lions have moved up to join the Ross Lions. The former John Kyrle High School students joined the junior Leo Club three years ago. The first to sign up was 18-year-old Jeremy Hodges of Ross, who is attending college. Jeremy is the first Leo to join a Lions club in the surrounding district for many years.
Next to join was Bristol University student Matt Petri, 18, from Monmouth. He recently visited Uganda and helped set up a new Leo Club there, with a start-up membership of 22. He chose Ross Lions because he still wanted to be involved with the Ross Youth Lions at the John Kyrle High School.
They have now decided to join the Ross Lions club and were badged up at meetings in October. “The two decided that they had had such a good time in the Ross Youth Lions and so enjoyed doing good things for the local community that they wanted to continue to serve the people living in the HR9 area”. Both Jeremy and Matt will continue to help the youth club in some capacity on behalf of the Ross Lions.
